WHY ORJI UZOR KALU ACQUIRED A NEW GULFSTREAM PRIVATE JET

Eminent businessman, Orji Kalu, last week, increased the number of jets in his fleet.
We gathered from a reliable source that his latest acquisition is a Gulfstream G550 which has a cruise speed of Mach 0.85 to 0.90, with maximum speed of Mach 0.925 and a range of up to 7,000 nmi (13,000 km), is arguably the fastest civilian jet in the world. Gulfstream described the aircraft as ultra-high-speed, ultra-long-range business jet and the gold standard in business aviation. G550 has some of the most sophisticated avionics rivaling nearly anything in the sky, and it’s also perfect for doing business on a global scale.
Kalu has sealed a contract through his company, Slok, for the new acquisition with one of the oil majors in Central Africa for a period of four years subject to renewal. Slok Nig Ltd is one of the largest indigenous shipping companies in Nigeria servicing multinational oil companies including Mobil, Total, and Agip among others. The company remains a household name in the industry owing to professional discharge of services with "A" class personnel. The good working relationship between Slok and oil majors earned the company the opportunity to extend their services to aviation for senior executives of the multinationals.
Recently, Slok won European award for best practices in far away Belgium.
Speaking under condition of anonymity, a close associate and confidant of the Abia born billionaire said: "The Orji Uzor Kalu that I have known for years is prudent in spending but that doesn't stop him from enjoying a decent life. All these aircraft acquisitions are for commercial ventures, though that doesn't stop him from calling them in for private use at will. I respect his disposition to life, he is able to balance work and life”.
All efforts by our correspondent to reach the business mogul proved abortive as his phones were switched off.
