Game of Thrones Season 5 Will Have Flashbacks, Producers Confirm

When producers David Benioff and Dan Weiss started turning the “Game of Thrones” books into a TV series for HBO, they promised themselves one thing: they weren't going to have flashbacks on the show, or dream sequences or prophecies. But for season 5, they are ready to break that rule.
During a film session with film students in Spain, the producers admitted that they would introduce flashbacks starting with the upcoming season 5.

“Making the first season, we set a rule: No prophecies, dreams, or flashbacks. We already failed the first two, and this season we broke the third. So yes, this season will finally have flashbacks,” they said.

AceshowBiz now claims that season 5 is supposed to start off with a flashback scene, but whether that scene will remain in place once the episode is aired remains to be seen. The good news is that the flashbacks mean some of the audience's favorite characters, such as Eddard Stark, played by Sean Bean, could return to the screen.

Season 5 of “Game of Thrones” is currently being filmed, in preparation for its release in April 2015. The cast has been filming in Croatia and in Spain, at the historic Alcazar Palace in Seville.
