Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow is
one of Barack Obama’s supporters and, just hours ago, she hosted a fundraiser
for the Democratic National Committee at her Brentwood, California home, where
the guest of honor was none other than the President of the United States. In person.
In all his handsomeness.
That’s how Gwyneth, the host of the
evening, introduced Obama to speak to the crowd of people who had paid a
fortune to see him, on issues ranging from the Ebola crisis to ISIS and equal
pay for men and women.
“You’re so handsome that I can’t speak properly,” Paltrow told Obama. See more....

Gwyneth
made a fool of herself
Even those with no special
investment in politics believe Gwyneth Paltrow made a fool of herself with the
way she acted at this fundraiser, if comments on various online forums are
anything to go by.
Those who don’t like Obama in the least even say that she is just another “Obama drone” and that she’s turning politics into a celebrity circus with such endeavors, but that’s to be expected of them. Those who get behind events of this type find it hilarious that she, a grown woman with a considerable life experience, would act like a silly schoolgirl.
We don’t have video of her speech yet, but BuzzFeed provides these gems from her speech: “I am one of your biggest fans, if not the biggest,” “It would be wonderful if we were able to give this man all of the power that he needs to pass the things that he needs to pass,” and the much ridiculed “You’re so handsome that I can’t speak properly.”
The Oscar winner also asked members of the audience to give Obama a chance because he was all about equal pay between men and women, and this was a very important aspect to her as a “working mother.”
A brief reminder here: this is the same Gwyneth who was saying, just a few months back, that she had it much harder than working mothers out there because at least they had the 9-to-5 routine to fall back on, while she had to cope with the hardships of going away on location for weeks, sometimes even in Wisconsin.

The
fundraiser was a very pricey affair
Laugh as
we will about Gwyneth’s girly comments about Obama, but the reality remains
that this was a very pricey and exclusive affair. Prices for an invite went for
anything between $1,000 (€792.40) to $32,400 (€25,662) per person, depending on
what you expected from the event.
For the least amount of money,TMZ reports, all you got was a certain way in, but you had to pay many times that to actually secure a seat – and about $15,000 (€11,880) if you wanted to eat dinner too. For $32,400 (€25,662), you got to meet the President, have your picture taken with him, your name on the invitation, and every other perk you could think of.
About 250 people attended, including other A-lister Julia Roberts and actor Bradley Whitford.
