US to Prosecute "Thomas Duncan", US first Ebola Carrier

US considering screening of passenger who are coming from Ebola hit country, President Obama said yesterday that though the likelihood of an Ebola outbreak in the US is "extremely low' but they have to react.

"We're also going to be working on protocols to do additional passenger screening both at the source and here in the United States. Countries that think that they can sit on the sidelines and just let the United States do it, that will result in a less effective response, a less speedy response, and that means that people die."
"And it also means that the potential spread of the disease beyond these areas in West Africa becomes more imminent," President Obama said at the White House briefing with US health officials

American District Attorney, Craig Watkins has revealed that his office is actively investigating whether or not Mr Duncan, 42 years old Liberian, who is the first Ebola carrier to enter US will face criminal prosecution should he recover from his critical condition where he is said to be in hospital isolation unit in Dallas.

Thomas Duncan could face the charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon – with the Ebola virus as that weapon. If convicted this carries a jail term of two years or more.
