We Saw Helicopters Dropping Arms, Food For Boko Haram – Internally Displaced People.

Displaced residents of Monguno, in Borno State, which was recently taken over by Boko Haram, have said they saw helicopters dropping arms and food items for the insurgents in the bushes.

The IDPs, who said they spent about 48 hours in the bush running towards Maiduguri, expressed worry that the Boko Haram sect was not the only ones involved in the insurgency, but that there are many foreign fighters and some external supports.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alerts that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has in its possession, tapes of terrorist attacks on innocent Nigerians, which it intends to air to achieve its selfish purpose.

Indeed, upon the release of the tapes, the APC must explain to Nigerians how it got hold of them. We ask, is the APC working in collaboration with terrorist cells, who have been unleashing violence against innocent citizens of our dear nation?

Boko Haram Victims to Get $1bn' - President Goodluck Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday promised that the Federal Government would raise $1bn (over 200 billion naira) to support over one million Boko Haram victims. 

According to Vanguard, Jonathan said this while on a courtesy visit to the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Shehu El-Kanemi in Maiduguri while in the Borno State capital in continuation of his presidential re-election rally.

Ghana Police Arrest Boko Haram Founder in Ghana

Ghana Eastern regional police command has arrested three suspected Islamic extremists who have formed Boko Haram group at Akim Ofoase in the Eastern region and have been engaged in torturing Muslim women who defy their orders. DAILY HERITAGE Reports.

The suspects are Abdullah Sulemana a.k.a taller, 30, Bukari Musa, 28, and Danjima Sheriff, 17. Other members of the group are, however, at large and are believed to be hiding at Nima, a suburb of Accra.

The students who were dressed in hijab (Islamic apparel for women) were returning to resume school when some members of the public at Central mosque Minna raised alarm that the two ladies were suspected to be suicide bombers.

Governor of Imo state and a presidential aspirant of the APC, Chief Rochas Okorocha, says that the reign of terror by Boko Haram members in Nigeria will not stop if President Jonathan is re-elected President in 2015.

Bomb blast at the Azare market of Bauchi State

  Another bomb explosion has occurred in Azare Town of Bauchi State, North-Eastern Nigeria, the News Agency of Nigeria is reporting.

According to the report agency, quotes the Bauchi State Police Commissioner, Lawal Shehu, as stating that the casualty figure is yet to be ascertained. He also said rescue operation is ongoing.

However no one has claimed the responsibility of the bomb blast as at the time of filing this report

Nigerian Army Takes Control of Chibok Seized by Boko Haram.

 Its a good news that 24 hours after Boko Haram men captured Chibok town in Borno state, soldiers from the 7th Division of the Nigerian army yesterday reclaimed the community after a long gun battle that started yesterday morning.

An indigene of Chibok who spoke with Leadership, said a large deployment of soldiers were seen moving in from the direction of Damboa on Saturday morning and engaged the sect members in a gun battle, eventually overpowering them. CONTINUE READING...

GOVT MOVES 2,400 N’ EAST STUDENTS TO UNITY SCHOOLS

Awards scholarships, to pay parents stipends

TO save them from attacks by Boko Haram, the Federal Government yesterday moved 2,400 secondary schools’ students from the three North East states under an emergency rule to federal unity schools across the federation.

The number consists of 800 each from the affected states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe and they represent students whose parents have willingly offered to have them moved to safe havens to continue with their education. CONTINUE READING....

COURT SENTENCES BOKO HARAM FINANCIER TO 10 YEARS IMPRISONMENT

Is 10 years enough?..... Justice Saliu Saidu of the Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday sentenced a financier of the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram, to 10 years’ imprisonment with hard labour.

The Boko Haram financier was among four suspects secretly tried before the judge by the Department of State Security (DSS).

The suspects included Adamu Mohammed, Mohammed Mustapha, Bura Husseni and Mohammed Ibrahim.
Efforts by journalists to get details of the allegations against the suspects and other details about the conviction were unsuccessful as no one was willing to divulge the information.

It was however gathered that one of the suspects was convicted and sentenced to 10 years jail for sponsoring Boko Haram, while the other three were released by the judge. CONTINUE READING....

Boko Haram Denies Ceasefire, Says Chibok Girls Are Already Married Off

 

 Boko Haram have denied that they had agreed to a ceasefire in a new video obtained yesterday by AFP, describing the Nigerian government claims as a lie and apparently ruling out future talks.

The group’s leader, Abubakar Shekau, also claimed the 219 schoolgirls kidnapped from the remote northeast town of Chibok, in Borno state, in April had converted to Islam and been married off.

The video comes after a surprise Nigerian military and presidency announcement on October 17 that a deal had been reached with the militants to end hostilities.

A senior presidential aide to Goodluck Jonathan also said agreement had been reached to free the schoolgirls, whose abduction sparked global anger and demands for their release.CONTINUE READING...

BOKO HARAM: IHEJIRIKA THREATENS TO SUE AUSTRALIAN NEGOTIATOR, DEMANDS $50B COMPENSATION

Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt- General Azubuike Ihejirika (rtd), has threatened to drag the Australian negotiator, Stephen Davis to court if he fails to retract his earli¬er statement alleging that he (Ihejirika) did sponsor the activities of Boko Ha¬ram. Recall that Davis in an interview with Australian ABC and Nigerian Arise TV stations, alleged that he was informed by Boko Haram commanders, whom he claimed to have inter¬acted with, that there were prominent politicians, who have been sources of fund¬ing to Boko Haram.

He was quoted to have said: “ There is a former Chief of Army Staff, who retired in Janu¬ary, rightly sacked by the President, who is another sponsor of the Boko Harm sect.” The threat to drag Davis to court was contained in advertorial published on pages 32 and 33 of yesterday’s Daily Sun, by his solicitors, Illegbune & Co, entitled, “Complainant of your fictitious, unfounded, malicious and gravely defamatory allegation of sponsorship of Boko Haram insurgency by LT. General Onyeabo Azu¬buike Ihejirika.”

In the letter, he also demanded a well-worded apology should be published in local and international print and electronic media, including at least three Nigerian national newspapers, within seven working days that started counting yesterday.

The letter also stated that a payment of $50 billion be made as compensation to Ihejirika, for the irreparable loss to his highly earned image and reputation. CONTINUE READING.....
