LIKE MOTHER LIKE DAUGHTER, LATE "PROF. DORA AKUNYILI'S DAUGHTER WINS INTERNATIONAL AWARD"

 Late Prof. Dora Nkem Akunyili's daughter, Njideka Akunyili has been announced as the 2014 winner of James Dicke Contemporary Artist Prize by the Smithsonian American Art Museum.

Njideka will receive a cash prize as the 11th winner of $25,000 (N4,442,493.70) along with the award which “recognizes an artist younger than 50 who has produced a significant body of work and consistently demonstrates exceptional creativity.”
